Color of the Year: Peach Fuzz
The paint powers that be have spoken: Pantone's official hue for 2024 is Peach Fuzz. According to the Peach Fuzz captures our desire to nurture ourselves and others. It's a velvety gentle peach tone whose all-embracing spirit enriches mind, body, and soul. According to the color authority, "Peach Fuzz captures our desire to nurture ourselves and others. It's a velvety gentle peach tone whose all-embracing spirit enriches mind, body, and soul."
This pinkish-orange shade evokes our collective craving for slowing down and creating connections. "Highly suggestive of good taste," says Pantone, "Peach Fuzz is a gift to the senses, creating a symbiotic relationship between our sense of taste, sight, touch, and scent." That sounds pretty peachy keen to me.
The muted coral and salmon tones work well with neutrals like beige and camel as well as shades of lilac, berry, mint green, and eggplant. Pair a peach button-up with some chocolate-colored trousers and a blazer this winter, then transition the same shirt into spring with a raspberry miniskirt and coral sunnies (just be careful not to skew too Easter bunny). It's also an excellent shade when shopping vintage, as peach has been particularly popular throughout the centuries.
